The following list is a sampling of what your church could do for a school.  Whether your congregation is large or small, you can be an effective partner.  Start small.  Don’t bite off more than you can chew. We invite you to view our online video by clicking here for further information.

No cost (or minimal cost) to the church:

· Adopt a family at Christmas
· Book Fair
· Bring dinner for teachers on parent-teacher conference nights
· Collecting coats, gloves, scarves, etc.
· Chaperone field trips
· Health Fair
· Help with hall monitoring
· Job Shadowing
· Mentoring (Be a Big Brother/Big Sister)
· Offer to help at the school before classes begin or with breakfast (if your school serves it). Perhaps offer to oversee a study hall for students who must come early.
· Parishioners donate school supplies/uniforms at start of school year
· Pray for a student, a teacher or a classroom
· Volunteering at the school:
· Assisting a teacher or small group of teachers by running off dittos, giving make-up tests, working with small reading groups, chaperoning a class party, etc.
· Assisting the school counselor or social worker
· Cleaning/maintaining the school and grounds
· Helping a coach
· Reading to students during “Right to Read Week”
· Running or assisting with the Safety Patrol Program
· Working in the Attendance Office (Calling parents, paperwork, etc.)
· Working in the Main Office OR
· Whatever the school needs
· Youth Fellowship Involvement, i.e., a Halloween or Christmas Party

Some Cost:

· Attendance incentives
· Beautify the school
· Continuing education/staff development
· Help a family in crisis
· Instrument or equipment repair
· Reading incentives
· School supplies provided to students
· “Student of the Month” luncheon or pizza party
· Teacher Appreciation luncheon
· Teacher Appreciation Week (provide certificates, letters, small gifts, etc.)
· Teacher Grants
· Tutoring Programs
